Indeed, splitting Catalonia in two, the Pyrenees carve into the Mediterranean Sea an abrupt and undulating coast: the Côte Vermeille. Only 25 kilometers long this coast is one of the most amazing scenery of the Mediterranean basin. Gem of the Roussillon, built next to a citadel set upon a rocky outcrop, the village of Collioure , is a place of destination for many tourists of every nationalities, as it was in the past for the artistic and intellectual elite.
